Christian Hümbs was nominated at the ROLLING PIN-AWARDS in Hamburg as „Pâtissier of the year“ and was ranked before Ian Baker from hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski in Munich as well as Kay Baumgardt from the restaurant “Zur Fernsicht” in Heiden.
The award ceremony which was organized for the eighth time took place in the Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg on Monday, October 23rd.
Due to the high participation of tourism insiders, the ROLLING PIN Awards are often referred to as "Oscars of the gastronomy" and awarded in a total of 14 categories. More than 9,800 employees from the top German food and hospitality industries nominated their own personal favorites during an online voting.
Christian Hümbs, who has been responsible under Jan Hartwig for the pâtisserie in the 2 Michelin star restaurant Atelier for more than a year, follows his credo: "The creativity of the pâtisserie is to re-establish the limits every day".
