Jan Hartwig, chef of the restaurant Atelier from Hotel Bayerischer Hof, was stated again in the list of GERMANY’S 50 BEST CHEFS:
While Jan Hartwig achieved the 25th rank in the last year, he was voted to the 11th rank of GERMANY’S BEST CHEFS at this years CHEFDAYS that took place in Berlin and thus enhanced his status in a total of 14 ranks.
5.094 co-workers of the gastronomy from all over Germany voted for their champion. Afterwards 11.147 voters chose their favorite from the 50th most nominated chefs of Germany.
Due to the high attendance of gastronomy specialists, the list of the 50 BEST CHEFS is known as the best insider guide. No food criticist, but only connaisseurs of the catering sector who estimate the results professionally were allowed to participate.
Jan Hartwig achieved the second range of the best chefs in Bavaria and was therefore honoured as the most successful Bavarian upcomer. He was awarded in front of gourmet-specialists like Heinz Winkler from Residenz Heinz Winkler in Aschau (Rank 13), Hans Haas from Restaurant Tantris in Munich (Rank 30) and Martin Fauster from Restaurant Königshof in Munich (Rank 38).

Since Mai 2014 Jan Hartwig is the chef of the Restaurant Atelier for which he and his team have already achieved two Michelin Stars, 18 Points from Gault Millau and 10 Gusto Pfannen. The 34 year old was especially excited about the award as “Koch des Jahres” (Chef of the Year) from the magazine “Feinschmecker”.
