Last year, the world got to know Jany McPherson as the phenomenal accompanist to guitar god John McLaughlin. But the pianist and singer, who was born in Guantanamo (on the Cuban side!), initially grew up entirely in the musical tradition of her home country. As a teenager, she played with Omara Portuendo and the Buena Vista Social Club, with Manolito Simonet and Miles Peña and received the Adolfo Guzman Award. Discovered by French producer Yves Chamberlain, she moved to France in 2010, where she recorded her first album with stars such as Didier Lockwood, Andy Narell, Michel Alibo and Thierry Fanfant. Since then, she has conquered the world with her brilliant blend of Afro-Caribbean exoticism, finest jazz and enchanting singer/songwriting in English, Spanish and French. Sometimes with melancholy melodiousness, sometimes filigree playfulness, sometimes with crazy tempo - Jany McPherson will play the keyboard of her emotions with virtuosity.
