Lucia Appel's musical home is the realm of piano-driven songs. She acquired the basics with private lessons from Larry Porter and jazz piano studies at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, which she immediately followed up with vocal training with Benny Gilette in the USA and Alexa Rodrian in Berlin. She has long been one of the most accomplished jazz musicians who can sing and play the piano on an equal footing. Her broad repertoire ranges from lyrical jazz standards from the 1930s and 1940s by George Gershwin and Cole Porter to pop and soul arrangements by Tom Waits and Bill Withers. Sensual smooth jazz meets blues and soul with plenty of rhythm. And also A trio from which you can expect a rousing evening, including classic jazz with its own sound and a modern touch. Appel is also at home in Latin jazz with her quintet project Luma Sabor. The best prerequisites for an unusually varied and colorful musical journey into winter.
