Céline Rudolph, professor at the Berlin Jazz Institute, has long been one of Germany's best and most versatile jazz singers. She has proven this in a wide variety of formations and crossover projects, whether with Schönberg or Moritz Eggert arrangements, with Dusko Goykovich and his big band or in the United Women's Orchestra, or with stars such as Till Brönner or Lionel Loueke. And, of course, with her own award-winning albums such as “Brazaventure,” “Metamorflores,” and “Salvador,” which span the globe from Africa to the French Caribbean to Latin America. On her brand-new album “Amaré,” presented for the first time at the Night Club, Rudolph's trio debut with the magnificent Brazilian accompanists Henrique Gomide on piano and João Luis Nogueira on guitar, Brazilian music and jazz now come together. Light, passionate, and profound. An emotionally charged, deeply personal project that marks a new beginning for Rudolph: “This music moves like a tidal wave. Between genres, we let ourselves drift to new shores, new currents, new ways of life. From ”a maré,“ meaning the tides, which represent the flowing character of the music, to ”Amar é...,“ which means ”To love is...“ and speaks of the devotion that touches us deeply.”
