The Brit Kit Downes is not only a magician on every conceivable keyboard, he is also a workhorse of the European scene. He has shone and continues to shine in numerous international formations. He has a special love for the organ - whether church organ or the unmistakable Hammond. He founded the classic jazz organ trio Deadeye in 2021 with two other shining lights of the European jazz scene, Dutch guitarist Reinier Baas (Hans Bennink, Metropole Orchestra) and German drummer Jonas Burgwinkel (Pablo Held Trio, John Scofield). Deadeye expands the tried and tested formula of Hammond, drums and guitar with the most diverse influences of its members. The result is a breathless collision of colors in which jazz-rock, math beats, sonic force and classical music of the 20th century unite. Power and lightness at the same time, that is what characterized their debut album of the same name as well as their recently released live album, which they are presenting at the Bayerischer Hof.
