Mozart Parlour

Axel Vervoordt’s philosophy for the rooms was pivotal when selecting the name for this room. He describes the parlour as follows: “an 18th century room must be elegant, but also practical and useful. Similar to Mozart, who conveys the most important tones in a very simple way, but despite this, his music joins and moves us. It is the atmosphere and harmony that make it.” For this reason, he decided on the vibrant “Stone Blue” colour, which is named after the Indigo Pigment and was already in use during Mozart’s lifetime in the 18th century. More portraits of ladies and gentlemen, an antique wooden desk with inlay and Medici vases placed on two stucco marble columns are distributed around the room.

The Mozart Parlour is located on the first floor of the Palais Montgelas and has access to the Blue Parlour and the Portrait Parlour.
